This morning I was on Moody Radio and when they introduced me, the guest called me a “super hero”. She said the reason was that most mom’s just try surviving until bedtime in the care of their children and when I described some of the ways I deliberately raise my daughters and discussed my parenting actions to my daughters this was her response.
It got me thinking that it is really much more than surviving. However I qualify that in saying if you are a mom of children under 5 it IS about surviving. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve said to new moms that the first year of a child’s life should be looked at like a mom boot camp.
However AFTER those years and especially in the years I’m currently in by raising lower school elementary school aged children it is much more involved than just surviving until bedtime.
I look at it as my responsibility to be in touch with raising my daughters with very specific values to become amazing children. This to me is much more than just taking care of their basic needs. I strive towards understanding the very best way I can parent my daughters in order for them to be all they are meant to be.
This is the most difficult part of my job as their mom!
